How to choose reliable Car Transporters

1. The federal government requires all auto transport brokers and carriers to have an MC number, and if they are a carrier a USDOT number. Enter your auto transporters info and you can view this in an html or adobe format. It will tell you if there insurance is up to date and if their authority status is in good standing.

2. Check with the BBB. While this is not a fullproof method, you can see if there is a long history of any unresolved complaints and if the car shipper has an "unsatisfactory record".

3. Make sure you get any guarantees in writing such as car pick up and delivery times, and refund policies.
