One of the toughest steps in shipping a car is determining which shipper is reliable and which ones are not. To help you effectively decipher this there are several online sites you can use.
While the BBB is helpful it should not be the only resource you use. Remember, this is an industry where there are quite a few factors that influence whether or not your car arrives in one piece and on time. Some are just out of the auto transporters hand. Factors like traffic, or the truck breaking down that your vehicles on and weather to name a few.
What you should look for are constant patterns of the same complaint when using the BBB. This is a sign of a problem company. Companies that move 1,000 of cars per year are bound to have a few complaints here and there and they may be all different. Stay clear of the patters.
Another effective way is to do a search for the transport company you are contemplating. There are other sites to counter balance as well like transport reviews or auto transport reviews. No one site should be used alone.
Weigh the comments from all the sites including the federal carrier safety administration which should be your first stop determining if they are an active transport broker or carrier licensed with the government.
