Carrier vs. Auto Transport brokers

We often get calls from auto transport consumers that ask if we are a broker or a carrier and they don't want to use a auto transport broker but want us to put them in touch only with carriers. While this approach can make sense its not always the best solution. As we have discussed before carriers do own their own trucks. Some carriers can and will also broker your automobile out if they have their broker authority. So don't be fooled and ask if your demanding a carrier. The disadvantage is if your looking for the best auto transport rate, and a carrier may not be the way to go as if they are using their own trucks are limited to their own inventory and routes. Auto transport brokers will shop it around and may be able to move your car sooner as they have multiple trucking companies to shop probably within their own network.
