I'm frequently asked on how often in advance one should hire a car shipper or mover. Even for the procrastinators such as myself, you should give yourself plenty of time for the smoothest experience possible. When shipping a car a minimum of 2-3 weeks should be given. Express auto transport is available if you have less time or for certain circumstances.
Moving the entire contents of your home and autos requires more time. A good rule of thumb here is to find a moving company 3-4 months prior to your move date. Most moving companies can also handle your auto shipping requirements as well instead of using 2 different companies.
As always read your contract (bill of laiden) and get all requirements and guarantees in writing.
