The Effects of Rising Gasoline Prices & Your Transport
Over the past 2 years we have seen a steady rise in gas & diesel costs. Obviously this has a direct effect on transportation companies. The airlines and trucking industries mostly. The airlines have been hit so hard with the rising price of jet fuel that 3 companies have recently gone out of business.
The only way for trucking companies to stay in business is to raise their costs and pass it on to you the consumer. As discussed many times, when compared with the cost of driving the car yourself and convenience factor, its still an attractive option, even with the increases to transport your vehicle.
Beware of the low ball offers. If an auto shipping broker quotes you too low of a price, chances are your car will not be picked up by the carrier (trucking company). Sometimes brokers are still quoting old rates and not taking the increase cost of fuel into consideration. Always get 3 auto shipping quotes to compare. If one seems to low, it probably is.
